Will Google’s New Mobile Friendly Algorithm Impact Your Website?

Starting on April 21st, Google is going to take the new mobile-friendly guidelines into consideration when ranking mobile search results. The websites that are the most mobile-friendly will rank the highest when people are searching Google on their mobile devices. Since the use of mobile devices has increased drastically, you don’t want your website to fall behind when it comes to mobile searches. This algorithm will impact websites worldwide.
Google will mark whether or not the site is mobile-friendly based on specific guidelines. Making sure your website is prepared before the change takes place will benefit your website. The day the algorithm goes live, is the day your website will be declared mobile-friendly. Take the time to go through these steps:

  • Avoid the use of the software Flash. Most mobile devices do not have this.
  • Have readable text and clickable links. If someone needs to zoom in to read or click, change it.
  • Don’t place links to close to one another. Viewers can easily click the wrong one this way.
  • Size the content so that there is no need to scroll horizontally.
  • Link to other mobile-friendly sites from your mobile site, not desktop pages.

Making these improvements to your website will not only be beneficial for your SEO, it will also be beneficial for the viewers of your site. Why would you want them to have a negative experience while viewing your site? The list above is the criteria that the Googlebot looks for when deciding if the site is mobile-friendly or not.
Once you think you have done all you can to make your site mobile-friendly, double check yourself. Google offers a mobile-friendly test that can help you to see if your website is truly mobile-friendly according to Google’s standards. You have up until April 21st to make these changes to your site. Start making these improvements now. Your website will be on it’s way to better SEO!

Physicians Online Marketing Presence

th (3)Online presence has a major impact on the success of your business. Many people are using their smart phones for access to find the closest doctors to their home or work. Once they have found physicians that are close, they can search reviews and see what other local people think of these doctors before making an appointment. These are fairly new techniques for physicians to use to market themselves. Many physicians are now finding that their old ways of marketing are becoming less useful and looking for new techniques to draw in clients.
Local search engine optimizations are there to help physicians market themselves in a local radius. There is a useful reason why all smartphones have locations settings. This is because people are constantly using their smart phones to find places and services close to their proximity. SEO’s give an instant result for what people are looking for and most accurately. The more inefficient way of doing this was by word-of-mouth. People would rely mostly on asking people who has been to a doctor for this or that. The word-of-mouth or repeated customer is an outdated way of filling your offices. It’s not the worst, but when you considering advertising and getting your office as a top search in an SEO, this can significantly help you in the future.
Using backlinks to generate more utilization on the web will get you noticed by SEO’s and they will signify that your website is being used more often. What that means is that as your website gets more traffic your popularity goes up on the SEO making your business one of the top choices when searched. You also want to make sure that your backlinks are coming from notable sources. For example, using a colleagues’ website to endorse your page would be a great way to get you noticed on SEO’s.
These few things are not new approaches, but are become some of the most important marketing techniques for physicians. The trend is more and more people leaning towards the internet to choose services. Take advantage of the internet and make it work for you!

The Future of Doctor Referrals

Does it appear that your referral stream is running smoothly and nothing has changed? Think again. Recently, times have changed, and there is no longer an easy way to get a referral for your practice. It is becoming more and more difficult to gain referrals and continue bringing in new patients to your practice without doctor referral marketing. In order to continue to see your practice grow and expand with more new patients, you may need to consider marketing for professional referrals.
There has been an increase in competition in the market, and doctors have to be aware of this rapid growth in the medical field. Additionally, medical practices are not coming to this realization soon enough and more practices are relocating, retiring or going out of business. Many medical professionals may be in denial over the fact that their business won’t be receiving referrals as often as they did in years past. Furthermore, many medical practices may want  to stick to their usual procedure of receiving referrals because that’s “the way it works.” However, with doctor referral marketing, these practices will save time and money. Firms that are designed to market medical practices will drastically increase your referral totals by marketing your practice in several ways.
Your practice will have an up-to-date website with blogs, doctor information, and information about your practice. Having a trusted and experienced marketing team by your side may also help your presence on social media as well. Facebook, twitter and instagram are all new ways for your practice to be recognized. Moreover, you will see an increase in referrals from outreach that these marketing professionals will do for your practice. Doctor’s offices will remember your practice’s presence and assertiveness, which will help when referring. Your practice will become more recognized, well-known and trusted. Overall, it is better to act now before your practice begins to lose too many referrals to the point where you reach panic mode. It is never a bad idea to ask for a little help.

Using Pinterest for your Healthcare Practice

download (1)
Pinterest has been a life changing social media for many people. People use it for planning their diets, workouts, outfits, weddings, organizing, and basically any other aspect of their lives. Even in healthcare people are more likely to check on the internet for symptoms, remedies and possible diagnoses before heading to see the doctor. This would make putting your practice on Pinterest the right move for you.

Whether people are looking for information on how to alleviate pain, natural cures, or maybe they are just look for more information on a new diagnoses they are for sure going to check Pinterest to see what they can learn. It allows you to create a quick and visual tool for people to absorb the information, opposed to them reading a ton of text. They are more likely to retain information from a short picture/diagram than by doing loads of research on an issue. Infographs are amazing tools that get the important information needed, they are found all over Pinterest.

When using Pinterest for a healthcare practice it is important to not only pin your info, but also share information from other pinners. This way you are sharing as much information with the public as possible. This tool is great to put the information in front of the client and make your practice more trusting. Using Pinterest to give healthy tips, advice, or recipes will be a huge hit with your patients. They will love that their information they are gaining is coming through their doctors first.

Pinning client pictures and testimonials would fit perfectly on Pinterest. Potential clients can pin these and save incase they are looking for your specific expertise at some point.

If your practice isn’t using Pinterest, it’s not too late to join! Whatever aspect you chose to use it for. Being active on Pinterest is the way to go!
